This morning, five balloons rose gracefully into the sky, just as the sun painted the Serengeti in gold. It was a perfect launch, and the wildlife didn’t disappoint elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, and even a distant cheetah and a leopard made appearances. We drifted over the riverbanks where hippos splashed, a serval cat slipped through the grass, and bushbucks watched quietly from the reeds. One balloon followed the Seronera River while the others climbed toward Makoma Six, each offering its own breathtaking view. All balloons landed softly and upright, and guests were all smiles as they gathered for our signature bush breakfast warm, delicious, and shared in the heart of the wild. This morning’s flight began with a gentle wait for the winds to calm then we rose into the golden sky just after sunrise. Wildlife greeted us in abundance: a cheetah striking a pose on a termite mound, lions lounging, elephants marching, and hippos splashing in and out of the river. Giraffes, buffaloes, gazelles, hartebeest, and bushbucks added to the wonder. Some balloons drifted toward Jamali’s Plain, others followed the Seronera River, all landing softly with grace. Guests were all smiles, toasting with champagne and savoring a delicious bush breakfast beneath the acacias. A morning full of beauty, warmth, and unforgettable moments.

A perfect morning in Central Serengeti with all five balloons airborne at sunrise. We drifted over Downeys Dam and along the river, spotting hippos, elephants, giraffes, crocodiles, and a variety of birds. Though game was light at first, sightings picked up over the plains with warthogs, reedbuck, and vultures. Smooth landings in Sonja Plains wrapped up a peaceful flight, and guests were all smiles grateful for the serenity, the views, and the magic of the morning sky.

As we floated toward Valley 16, the Serengeti came alive beneath us hippos wallowed in quiet pools, elephants marched with purpose, and ostriches danced across the grasslands. Guests spotted gazelles, giraffes, hyenas, a graceful serval, and a lioness with her playful cubs. Even a rare honey badger made a brief appearance, adding a touch of surprise to the morning’s magic. Gazelles danced, hyenas watched from the shadows, and even a serval made a rare appearance. Lions and cheetahs lay in regal stillness, bathed in morning light. We touched down in a smooth, upright landing, met with smiles and awe. Guests shared stories over a beautiful breakfast at River Tree, hearts full of a flight that felt like a dream.

We launched just as the sun kissed the horizon, with breezy conditions guiding us gently down the Seronera River and over the hippo pool. The morning light danced on the water as we floated low, hugging the river’s curves. Jeff spotted lions near the dry riverbed heading toward the water pump, and soon all balloons shifted course. Guests were thrilled to witness over ten lions including playful sub-adult cubs moving gracefully through the golden grass. Landings were calm at Tree One Road and Water Pump, wrapping up a flight rich with sightings: lion, elephant, buffalo, serval, warthog, hyena, and Thompson’s gazelle. Afterward, guests enjoyed a hearty breakfast and shared smiles all around grateful for a morning full of wonder with Serengeti Balloon Safaris.

We explored the morning winds through Valley 16, then glided onward to Makoma 4 for soft, serene landings. Along the way, guests were treated to a spectacular Serengeti morning two lion prides, both with playful cubs, and one pride celebrating a successful hunt. Elephants, buffalo, giraffes, warthogs, hyenas, and graceful gazelles completed the scene. After landing, a joyful breakfast sealed the experience.
