This morning’s flight over the Serengeti was nothing short of magical. As we drifted towards Sixteen Valley, we witnessed nature’s raw drama a lioness with a fresh zebra killed, surrounded by herds of zebras and wildebeest. Our journey continued with gentle rises and falls, bringing us close to the thatch kopjes where a cheetah and her two playful cubs appeared. The plains revealed even more wonders: elegant giraffes, Coke’s hartebeest, topi, impalas, gazelles, mighty elephants, and a pair of lions in their honeymoon. Overhead, vultures circled while secretary birds strode gracefully across the grasslands. The highlight was a breathtaking sight a pride of thirty‑three lions gathered together, a rare and unforgettable moment. We touched down softly on the Melia Plain, where guests were treated to a delightful bush breakfast. Smiles, laughter, and stories filled the air as everyone celebrated the joy of experiencing Serengeti Balloon Safaris. We were greeted by clear skies and gentle winds at the Kirawira launch site, setting the stage for a smooth and graceful ascent. The winds carried us over the Grumeti River, offering breathtaking views as we drifted north, later rising high to remain on the southern side of the river. Along the way, the Serengeti revealed its treasures: majestic elephants, waterbuck, topi, Thompson’s gazelles, zebras, giraffes, guinea fowl, swallows, and even the quick dart of an African hare. Each sighting added to the magic of the morning. Our journey concluded with a soft landing and a delicious bush breakfast, where guests shared smiles and stories. This morning’s flight over the breathtaking landscapes of Seronera was nothing short of magical. As we drifted toward Sixteen Valley, we were greeted by large herds of wildebeest gracefully mingling with zebras a classic Serengeti scene. Gentle rises and dips brought us close to the iconic thatch kopjes, where we spotted a cheetah with two playful cubs. Not far off, a pride of lions gathered around a fresh kill, their cubs tumbling nearby. The plains came alive with Coke’s hartebeest, bushbucks, reedbucks, giraffes, impalas, secretary birds, hyenas, jackals, and warthogs. After soaking in the panoramic beauty, both balloons touched down softly, not far from each other, in a smooth drag landing. Our guests were all smiles, cherishing every moment of this unforgettable journey with Serengeti Balloon Safaris.

Despite a breezy start at Kati Kati with gusty winds and a short delay, the morning unfolded into a truly magical experience. Once the winds calmed after sunrise, our balloons launched smoothly over the breathtaking SOPA Valley. Guests soared at varying altitudes, gliding above vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle. The skies gifted us with unforgettable sightings of cheetahs, lions, giraffes, elands, hyenas, and a rich array of birdlife including eagles, storks, and vultures. Each balloon touched down gently, and the adventure continued with a celebratory champagne toast and a delightful breakfast in the heart of the Serengeti. The joy and wonder on our guests’ face said it all an extraordinary journey with SBS they’ll cherish forever.

A clear dawn welcomed our guests, who arrived on time and lifted off just as the sun kissed the horizon. The flight offered breathtaking views as we drifted over the Mara River, spotting hippos and crocodiles below. The Lamai Oxbow came alive with giraffes, gazelles, guinea fowl, and a dramatic hyena kill surrounded by vultures, jackals, and marabou storks. Near Ubuntu, we encountered herds of zebra, wildebeest, topi, impala, and elephants crossing the river. Sayari gifted us more giraffes, elephants, and plains game, and a rare sighting of 19 ostrich hatchlings with their protective parents near the Junction, alongside a majestic buffalo herd. After a smooth landing, guests celebrated with a champagne toast and enjoyed our signature SBS bush breakfast, served with care and tradition. Spirits were high as everyone departed on time to reunite with their safari guides hearts full, memories made.

Today’s flight in Kogatende began with clear skies and a gentle sunrise launch. We drifted peacefully over the Mara River, spotting hippos and crocodiles below, and continued across the Lamai Oxbow where giraffe, gazelle, hyenas, and marabou storks greeted us. As we floated toward Ubuntu, herds of zebra, wildebeest, topi, and impala filled the plains, along with buffalo, elephants near the airstrip, and black-backed jackals near Kati 1. A truly special moment unfolded near our breakfast site 19 ostrich hatchlings with both parents in view. After a smooth landing and a joyful champagne toast, guests savored our signature SBS bush breakfast and departed with full hearts and unforgettable memories.

Our balloon flight today saw a magical start as two balloons gently rose with the sun over the central Serengeti. With soft winds and partly cloudy skies, we drifted northward, tracing the Seronera River and gliding over the golden Fuji plains before smooth stand-up landings near Tree One Road. The plains came alive with wildlife graceful gazelles, towering giraffes, playful warthogs, and herds of zebras and wildebeest. We were also treated to sightings of buffaloes, reedbuck, bushbuck, dik-diks, baboons, hippos basking in and out of water, a stealthy serval cat, curious hyenas, and even lions in their morning calm. A truly unforgettable morning in the heart of the wild.
