Our balloons soared gracefully all the way to R-22, near the scenic Hondohondo picnic site. Along the way, guests were treated to wonderful sightings of elephants and giraffes, impalas, kudu, jackals, and a delightful variety of birds. The landscape came alive beneath us, offering peaceful moments and breathtaking views. With a gentle breeze guiding us, we enjoyed a soft and steady landing. Smiles and stories were shared over our signature bush breakfast, making this morning flight one to cherish.

As the sun rose over the Serengeti, we lifted off gently into golden skies, beginning a peaceful journey toward the river. Our first sighting hippos resting in the water set the tone for a serene adventure. Drifting northward, we glided above elephants, giraffes, impalas, zebras, ostriches, and even a bat-eared fox. A final pass over the river revealed hippos lounging in the last big pool, a perfect farewell to the wildlife below. Guests cherished the tranquility of being the only balloon in the sky, with no vehicles in sight just the raw beauty of nature. After a smooth landing near the track, we toasted with champagne and shared the story of ballooning’s origins. Breakfast brought more magic: elephants and hippos in the riverbed, jackals, baboons, and a crowned crane nearby. Breakfast was served with a view elephants crossing the riverbed and Saddlebill storks wading nearby. As the sun rose over Ruaha, our balloons lifted gently into the morning sky. Guests from River Lodge had already glimpsed a lioness on their way to the launch site a thrilling start to the day. We floated along the river, greeted by hippos, elephants, giraffes, and zebra, with Fish Eagles soaring overhead. Lions roared from both sides of the valley, their calls echoing through the still air. In the baobab forest below, elephants wandered with their young, and just before landing, a leopard’s snarl reminded us of the wild beauty hidden in the grass. After a smooth landing, guests enjoyed the traditional champagne toast and a peaceful breakfast surrounded by crowned cranes, baboons, and buffalo. With no other balloons or vehicles in sight, the experience felt deeply personal just nature, sky, and the quiet magic of Ruaha.

Breakfast was served in the heart of the savannah, with sightings of gazelles, crowned cranes, baboons, and birds adding to the magic. Being the only balloon in the sky made the experience even more special and many guests called it the best breakfast they’ve ever had on safari.
