Kogatende began with a gentle lift-off under soft, cloudy skies, as our guests arrived on time and full of excitement. Drifting gracefully over the Mara River, we spotted Hippos and Crocodiles basking below, followed by a scenic glide past the Lamai Oxbow, where Zebra, Buffalo, Impala, Thomson’s Gazelles, and Hyenas welcomed us from the plains. Crossing the river once more, we encountered additional pods of Hippos before continuing over the open savannah. Wildlife sightings became more scattered, with pockets of Impala, Zebra, a Buffalo herd, and a few Wildebeest, while a majestic Tower of Giraffes stood tall near Siringit. Closer to the SBS base, we were treated to a lively mix of Wildebeest, Zebra, and Hyenas. After a smooth landing, guests celebrated with a traditional champagne toast and enjoyed a delicious SBS bush breakfast served with care and flair. With hearts full and cameras brimming, they departed on time to reunite with their Safari Guides carrying memories of a truly unforgettable morning in the Serengeti skies.

A clear morning sky greeted our guests, who arrived on time and lifted off just as the sun began to rise painting the Mara in golden hues. The flight glided gracefully over the Mara River, revealing hippos basking and crocodiles lurking below. At Lamai Oxbow, we spotted hippos returning to the water, alongside black-backed jackals, zebra, buffalo, wildebeest, and giraffe. Crossing the river again, even more hippos made their presence known. As we soared across the plains, wildlife became more scattered but still enchanting: impala, zebra, eland, and wildebeest dotted the landscape. A majestic tower of giraffes appeared near Little Paradise, with more along Duma Plain. Elephants graced us near the airstrip and again just before landing. A delightful surprise an ostrich pair with 16 hatchlings added to the morning’s magic. After a smooth landing and celebratory champagne toast, guests enjoyed our signature SBS bush breakfast, served with care and excellence. Spirits were high as everyone departed on time to rejoin their safari guides, hearts full and memories made.

This morning in Kogatende began with clear skies and calm winds perfect conditions for a peaceful balloon safari. Guests arrived on time, and the balloon lifted gently into the air, beginning a scenic journey across the Mara River. Wildlife sightings were plentiful along the riverbanks, with hippos, crocodiles, black-backed jackals, zebra, wildebeest, and hyenas making early appearances. At Lamai Oxbow, we watched hippos returning to the water, adding to the morning’s charm. As we continued downstream, more hippos and crocodiles revealed themselves in the quiet flow. Out on the plains, wildlife was more scattered but still captivating. We spotted impala, zebra, eland, and wildebeest, with a graceful tower of giraffes near the airstrip and others dotted along the flight path. Between Mara Mara and Machochwe, mixed herds kept the landscape lively and engaging. After a smooth stand-up landing and a celebratory champagne toast, guests enjoyed a beautifully prepared bush breakfast. Guests arrived on time and were soon floating peacefully above the Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles lounged in the morning light. Eland grazed near the Lamai Oxbow, and as we followed the river’s curve, more hippos and crocodiles appeared below. Crossing the plains, we spotted zebra, impala, eland, and small herds of wildebeest. Near Sayari, a large buffalo herd stood proudly, watched over by two male lions and a lioness nearby. As we approached Mara Mara, the plains came alive with more zebra and impressive wildebeest herds, gradually thinning as we neared our landing site. After a smooth descent and celebratory champagne toast, guests enjoyed a beautifully prepared bush breakfast. Nearby, a pride of six lionesses watched over the savannah, a breathtaking moment for all aboard. As we continued toward Mara Mara, vast herds of wildebeest and zebra painted the landscape with life. Despite a rainy start, the skies began to clear around 6:30 AM, allowing us to brief our guests and prepare the balloon for flight. By just after 7:00, a very soggy but determined balloon lifted gently into the morning air. We drifted north along the Mara River, offering stunning views of hippos and crocodiles basking in the water. As we climbed toward the plains, the Lamai Oxbow revealed a vibrant scene of giraffes, elephants, zebras, topi, eland, and warthogs. Crossing the open plains, we encountered even more wildlife graceful impalas, herds of wildebeest, buffalo along the riverbanks, and more giraffes and zebras. Near Mara Mara, large groups of wildebeest continued their northward journey, a breathtaking reminder of the Great Migration in motion. After a smooth landing, guests were welcomed with a celebratory champagne toast and treated to our signature Serengeti Balloon Safaris bush breakfast, served with care and elegance. Large herds of wildebeest and zebra flowed through the Tabora and Mara Mara corridors, painting the landscape with movement. The launch was smooth and timely, and soon our balloons were gliding gently above the Mara River. Passengers enjoyed serene views of hippos, crocodiles, Egyptian geese, and grey herons. Wildlife sightings were abundant zebra, impala, wildebeest, and buffalo near Sayari, followed by giraffe, eland, topi, oribi, warthogs, and large buffalo herds around Mara Mara. A lone lion watching over the buffalo added a touch of wilderness drama. Elephants appeared once again at Kati 1, while the Machochwe corridor came alive with migrating wildebeest and zebra.
