A clear dawn welcomed our guests, who arrived on time and lifted off just as the sun kissed the horizon. The flight offered breathtaking views as we drifted over the Mara River, spotting hippos and crocodiles below. The Lamai Oxbow came alive with giraffes, gazelles, guinea fowl, and a dramatic hyena kill surrounded by vultures, jackals, and marabou storks. Near Ubuntu, we encountered herds of zebra, wildebeest, topi, impala, and elephants crossing the river. Sayari gifted us more giraffes, elephants, and plains game, and a rare sighting of 19 ostrich hatchlings with their protective parents near the Junction, alongside a majestic buffalo herd. After a smooth landing, guests celebrated with a champagne toast and enjoyed our signature SBS bush breakfast, served with care and tradition. Spirits were high as everyone departed on time to reunite with their safari guides hearts full, memories made.

Today’s flight in Kogatende began with clear skies and a gentle sunrise launch. We drifted peacefully over the Mara River, spotting hippos and crocodiles below, and continued across the Lamai Oxbow where giraffe, gazelle, hyenas, and marabou storks greeted us. As we floated toward Ubuntu, herds of zebra, wildebeest, topi, and impala filled the plains, along with buffalo, elephants near the airstrip, and black-backed jackals near Kati 1. A truly special moment unfolded near our breakfast site 19 ostrich hatchlings with both parents in view. After a smooth landing and a joyful champagne toast, guests savored our signature SBS bush breakfast and departed with full hearts and unforgettable memories.

Our balloon flight in Kogatende today saw a serene sunrise launch with all guests arriving on time and spirits high. We gently floated over the Mara River, greeted by hippos and crocodiles below, and continued past the Lamai Oxbow where gazelles, guinea fowl, hyenas, and elegant water birds added to the morning charm. Wildlife was abundant giraffes, zebras, impalas, eland, topi, and a majestic buffalo herd. Elephant sightings were especially memorable, with herds near Sayari, Simbavati, and again at landing. A rare serval cat near AA Camp added a touch of magic to the journey. After a smooth landing, guests celebrated with a champagne toast and enjoyed a beautifully prepared SBS bush breakfast. With hearts full and smiles wide, they departed on time to continue their safari adventure.

We arrived to clear skies and calm winds at Koga, where one balloon launched smoothly and drifted north along the Mara River, offering breathtaking views of a large wildebeest herd surrounded by Eland, Topi, Zebra, Giraffe, and Thompson Gazelle, with a Lion resting on an island in the river; the flight ended with a gentle landing just south of the Mara Mara Road Junction. Throughout the journey, guests spotted an incredible array of wildlife including Lions, Elephants, Hippos, Hyenas, Eland, Topi, Thompson Gazelle, Wildebeest, Zebra, Giraffe, African Hare, Hawks, Eagles, Storks, Vultures, Gray Heron, Blue Heron, and Guinea Fowl. After landing, a delicious breakfast was served at our signature spot, where guests shared their excitement and praised the smooth flight, abundant sightings, and exceptional service, making it a truly unforgettable experience with SBS.

After a smooth takeoff, we drifted across the Mara River, where Hippos and Crocodiles moved gently through the morning light. The Lamai Oxbow revealed Wildebeest, Thomsons Gazelles, and Guinea Fowl, while the Kogatende side offered sightings of Hyenas, a Bat-eared Fox, Elephants, and Impala. Baboons and Vervet Monkeys added playful charm along the riverbanks. The flight continued with views of Giraffes, Eland, Topi, Hyenas, and three small Buffalo herds. A peaceful Elephant herd near Little Paradise brought the experience to a perfect close. After a graceful landing, guests enjoyed a champagne toast and a delicious SBS bush breakfast served to our signature high standard. Giraffes appeared near Sayari Lodge, joined by topi, buffalo, and impala. A few more hyenas and scattered herds added to the morning’s sightings. Drifting gracefully over the Mara River, we spotted Hippos and Crocodiles basking below, followed by a scenic glide past the Lamai Oxbow, where Zebra, Buffalo, Impala, Thomson’s Gazelles, and Hyenas welcomed us from the plains. Crossing the river once more, we encountered additional pods of Hippos before continuing over the open savannah. Wildlife sightings became more scattered, with pockets of Impala, Zebra, a Buffalo herd, and a few Wildebeest, while a majestic Tower of Giraffes stood tall near Siringit. Closer to the SBS base, we were treated to a lively mix of Wildebeest, Zebra, and Hyenas. After a smooth landing, guests celebrated with a traditional champagne toast and enjoyed a delicious SBS bush breakfast served with care and flair. The flight glided gracefully over the Mara River, revealing hippos basking and crocodiles lurking below. At Lamai Oxbow, we spotted hippos returning to the water, alongside black-backed jackals, zebra, buffalo, wildebeest, and giraffe. Crossing the river again, even more hippos made their presence known. As we soared across the plains, wildlife became more scattered but still enchanting: impala, zebra, eland, and wildebeest dotted the landscape. A majestic tower of giraffes appeared near Little Paradise, with more along Duma Plain. Elephants graced us near the airstrip and again just before landing. A delightful surprise an ostrich pair with 16 hatchlings added to the morning’s magic. Guests arrived on time, and the balloon lifted gently into the air, beginning a scenic journey across the Mara River. Wildlife sightings were plentiful along the riverbanks, with hippos, crocodiles, black-backed jackals, zebra, wildebeest, and hyenas making early appearances. At Lamai Oxbow, we watched hippos returning to the water, adding to the morning’s charm. As we continued downstream, more hippos and crocodiles revealed themselves in the quiet flow. Out on the plains, wildlife was more scattered but still captivating. We spotted impala, zebra, eland, and wildebeest, with a graceful tower of giraffes near the airstrip and others dotted along the flight path. Between Mara Mara and Machochwe, mixed herds kept the landscape lively and engaging.
