This morning’s flight was nothing short of spectacular. With gentle winds and a soft veil of clouds, five balloons rose gracefully at sunrise, drifting south of Makoma 2 and gliding over Rongai Hill. Smooth landings followed near Rongai 2 and 4, completing a serene journey across the plains. Wildlife sightings were abundant buffalo, elephants, cheetahs, lions, gazelles, giraffes, and so much more graced our path. The skies echoed with birdsong, and the land came alive beneath us. Our guests shared laughter, awe, and a delicious bush breakfast, making memories that will last a lifetime. Serengeti Balloon Safaris delivered another unforgettable adventure.

Kogatende

A peaceful dawn greeted our guests in Kogatende, with clear skies and a golden sunrise setting the tone for an unforgettable morning. The launch was smooth and timely, and soon our balloons were gliding gently above the Mara River. Passengers enjoyed serene views of hippos, crocodiles, Egyptian geese, and grey herons. Wildlife sightings were abundant zebra, impala, wildebeest, and buffalo near Sayari, followed by giraffe, eland, topi, oribi, warthogs, and large buffalo herds around Mara Mara. A lone lion watching over the buffalo added a touch of wilderness drama. Elephants appeared once again at Kati 1, while the Machochwe corridor came alive with migrating wildebeest and zebra. After a graceful landing and a celebratory champagne toast, guests were treated to our signature SBS bush breakfast, served with warmth and care. Smiles and stories filled the air as they departed to rejoin their safari guides carrying with them memories of a truly magical morning in the Serengeti.

Kirawira

This morning’s flight in Kirawira began under clear skies and gentle winds, with one balloon rising gracefully just in time for a breathtaking sunrise. We floated peacefully over the plains toward the Grumeti River, following its winding path for the entire flight before crossing into open grasslands for a smooth stand-up landing near our breakfast site. Wildlife sightings were abundant and magical gazelles, waterbuck, topi, hippos in and out of the water, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. Guests also spotted impalas, Cape buffalo, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, baboons, vervet monkeys, colobus monkeys, a civet cat, and a majestic male lion surveying the plains. After landing, guests were welcomed with a celebratory champagne toast and treated to our signature SBS bush breakfast, served with warmth and care. It was a morning filled with beauty, serenity, and unforgettable moments in the heart of the Serengeti.

This morning in the heart of the Serengeti, our Seronera balloon flight began under clear skies and gentle winds. As the sun rose, two balloons lifted gracefully into the air, offering guests breathtaking views of the plains and the winding Seronera River. A perfect glimpse of the hippo pool added to the magic before smooth stand-up landings at Salad Bowl, just steps away from our breakfast site. Wildlife sightings were abundant and unforgettable herds of buffalo, elephants, hippos, reedbuck, bushbuck, Thomson gazelles, dik-diks, giraffes, hyenas, warthogs, and a vibrant array of birdlife including secretary birds, martial eagles, white-backed vultures, Fisher’s lovebirds, sacred ibis, and Egyptian geese. After landing, guests were welcomed with a traditional champagne toast and treated to our signature SBS bush breakfast, served with warmth and care. Another amazing flight unfolded this morning as we made our way to the breakfast area. With calm winds and a perfectly timed takeoff, our balloon climbed steadily and cruised smoothly at higher altitudes. During the flight, guests enjoyed sightings of elephants, impalas, bushbucks, Grant’s gazelles, foxes, and a variety of birdlife including vultures. The views were spectacular, and the wildlife encounters added a touch of magic to the journey. We landed gently with just 1 knot of wind, and our passengers were all smiles. The morning concluded with our signature bush breakfast, served with warmth and care an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Serengeti.

Our balloon flight yesterday in Kogatende saw a serene start to the day, with a clear morning and a stunning sunrise. Passenger arrival and launch were perfectly timed, setting the tone for a memorable journey. We drifted gracefully along the Mara River, offering guests captivating views of hippos, crocodiles, and wildebeest remains scattered along the banks. Wildlife sightings were abundant zebra, impala, wildebeest, and buffalo near Sayari, and onward to Mara Mara we encountered giraffe, eland, topi, oribi, warthogs, and a lively troop of baboons. Elephants graced us at Kati 1, while wildebeest and zebra moved in impressive numbers through the Machochwe corridor. After a smooth landing and celebratory champagne toast, guests enjoyed our signature SBS bush breakfast, served with care and excellence. Spirits were high as they departed on time to reunite with their safari guides grateful for a morning filled with wonder.

Our balloon flight in Seronera saw a magical start under calm winds and clear skies. As the sun rose, both balloons lifted gracefully into the morning breeze, offering breathtaking views across the plains. We stayed low to catch a glimpse of the hippo pool and gently floated toward our final landing in Marion’s Plane. Along the way, our guests were treated to unforgettable sightings of lions, elephants, warthogs, Thomsons gazelles, giraffes, zebras, topis, and the rare Coax’s hartebeest. The morning was crowned with a delightful breakfast, and our passengers left with full hearts and cherished memories. It was a truly special experience with SBS.

Kogatende

Our balloon flight in Kogatende today saw a graceful launch under partly cloudy skies and gentle winds. Drifting westward, we touched down smoothly south of Machochwe. Along the way, guests were delighted by sightings of Thompson Gazelle, Warthog, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Topi, Zebra, Hyena, Vultures, Eagles, Lilac Breasted Roller, Herons, Guinea Fowl, African Hare, and a majestic Owl. A delicious breakfast awaited at our usual spot, where smiles and heartfelt compliments flowed freely. Guests were thrilled by the serene flight, abundant wildlife, and warm SBS hospitality on this beautiful morning.

Lamai Wedge

We had a fantastic flight in Lamai today under perfect flying conditions. Though our two guests left Singita a bit late, the balloon lifted just as the sun rose, casting golden light over the plains. Drifting southwest toward the Mara River, we were treated to breathtaking views and abundant wildlife. The flight path offered sightings of large migration herds, giraffes, elephants, buffalos, ostriches, mongoose, hippos, hartebeest, topis, hyenas, eagles, vultures, warthogs, waterbucks, elands, gazelles, and impala. After a smooth stand-up landing near Legendary Camp, guests enjoyed a delightful bush breakfast and shared their joy already booking another private balloon flight in Sasakwa on the 19th.
