This morning’s flight over the heart of the Serengeti was simply magical. Under soft overcast skies and gentle winds, three balloons lifted gracefully into the air, drifting across the golden plains toward Valley 16 and onward to the Makoma Hills. Two balloons touched down smoothly at Mokama 4, while the third landed near Fuji Hill each descent as serene as the journey itself. Wildlife sightings were plentiful and heart-stirring. Our guests were thrilled to spot lions, elephants, hippos, and even a cheetah with her cubs. The plains came alive with gazelles, impalas, topi, hartebeest, dik-dik, giraffes, warthogs, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, and a vibrant array of birdlife including secretary birds, white-bellied bustards, and guinea fowl. After landing, guests were treated to a delightful bush breakfast, rounding off an unforgettable morning with Serengeti Balloon Safaris where every flight is a story written in the skies.

We had another beautiful flight over Tarangire with smooth winds guiding us over the hills toward Sopa Lodge, where a gentle low-level turn transitioned into a graceful climb toward the river; although the sky was overcast and we missed the sunrise, the journey was peaceful and full of wonder, ending with a soft landing near the breakfast site. Guests were thrilled by the abundance of wildlife, spotting elephants, impala, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, warthogs, monkeys, vultures, jackals, two buffalo near Sopa, and a large herd just before SBS camp. The reactions were heartwarming, with many describing the flight as unforgettable and a highlight of their safari.

A soft, overcast morning greeted our guests, whose timely arrival set the stage for a smooth balloon launch. With gentle winds guiding us southward, the adventure began. Early sightings included hippos lounging in the river, followed by graceful giraffes, topi, warthogs, wildebeest, and zebra. As we drifted across the golden plains, the wildlife spectacle grew impala, eland, hyenas, and a majestic herd of buffalo near Sayari. Nearby, a pride of six lionesses watched over the savannah, a breathtaking moment for all aboard. As we continued toward Mara Mara, vast herds of wildebeest and zebra painted the landscape with life. After a smooth landing, guests celebrated with a champagne toast and indulged in our signature SBS bush breakfast elegantly served and warmly received. Spirits were high as guests departed on time, ready to reunite with their safari guides and continue their journey.

An amazing flight this morning in central Serengeti, with soft overcast skies and light winds setting the tone for a peaceful adventure. Five balloons lifted off smoothly and glided at varying altitudes over the golden plains toward Valley 16, before continuing along the scenic Makoma Hills. All balloons made gentle landings in the serene Sopa Valley. Though wildlife sightings were modest, guests were treated to glimpses of lions, distant elephants, serval, reedbuck, Thomson gazelles, impalas, giraffes, hyenas, warthogs, and a variety of birds including ostrich, tawny eagle, and lappet-faced vulture. After landing, guests enjoyed our signature bush breakfastserved with warmth and care. It was a morning of quiet beauty, shared smiles, and unforgettable memories with Serengeti Balloon Safaris.

Despite a rainy start, the skies began to clear around 6:30 AM, allowing us to brief our guests and prepare the balloon for flight. By just after 7:00, a very soggy but determined balloon lifted gently into the morning air. We drifted north along the Mara River, offering stunning views of hippos and crocodiles basking in the water. As we climbed toward the plains, the Lamai Oxbow revealed a vibrant scene of giraffes, elephants, zebras, topi, eland, and warthogs. Crossing the open plains, we encountered even more wildlife graceful impalas, herds of wildebeest, buffalo along the riverbanks, and more giraffes and zebras. Near Mara Mara, large groups of wildebeest continued their northward journey, a breathtaking reminder of the Great Migration in motion. After a smooth landing, guests were welcomed with a celebratory champagne toast and treated to our signature Serengeti Balloon Safaris bush breakfast, served with care and elegance. Smiling and satisfied, they departed on time to rejoin their safari guides carrying memories that will last a lifetime.

Though wildlife was a bit scattered today, guests were treated to unforgettable lion sightings, along with giraffes, hyenas, hartebeest, warthogs, impalas, gazelles, reedbuck, ostrich, and even distant elephants. Raptors like vultures and eagles soared above, adding to the magic. After landing, a warm bush breakfast was served and smiles all around confirmed a truly memorable morning in the skies.

Wildlife was abundant giraffes, zebras, impalas, wildebeest, waterbuck, and buffalo near Sayari, followed by eland, topi, oribi, warthogs, and elephants around Mara Mara. Large herds of wildebeest and zebra flowed through the Tabora and Mara Mara corridors, painting the landscape with movement. After a gentle landing and a joyful champagne toast, guests savored a delicious SBS bush breakfast. With smiles and full hearts, they departed to reunite with their safari guides a truly magical morning in Kogatende.

Smooth landings followed near Rongai 2 and 4, completing a serene journey across the plains. Wildlife sightings were abundant buffalo, elephants, cheetahs, lions, gazelles, giraffes, and so much more graced our path. The skies echoed with birdsong, and the land came alive beneath us.
