Despite a cloudy morning and light rain at launch, conditions soon cleared for a beautiful flight along the Mara River. Guests enjoyed sightings of hippos, crocodiles, sacred ibis, and a variety of wildlife including hyenas, wildebeest, topi, warthog, elephants, giraffes, and zebras. A special highlight was spotting three lions near the main road and two ostriches near Machochwe. Scattered herds stretched from the river to Sayari, with larger groups near Mara Road and beyond camp. The flight ended with smooth landings and a celebratory champagne toast, followed by a high-standard bush breakfast. Guests departed happy and on time to rejoin their safari guides grateful for a rich and memorable morning with Serengeti Balloon Safaris.

This morning, five balloons rose gracefully into the sky, just as the sun painted the Serengeti in gold. It was a perfect launch, and the wildlife didn’t disappoint elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, and even a distant cheetah and a leopard made appearances. We drifted over the riverbanks where hippos splashed, a serval cat slipped through the grass, and bushbucks watched quietly from the reeds. One balloon followed the Seronera River while the others climbed toward Makoma Six, each offering its own breathtaking view. All balloons landed softly and upright, and guests were all smiles as they gathered for our signature bush breakfast warm, delicious, and shared in the heart of the wild. Scattered herds of wildebeest and zebra stretched from the river to Sayari, with larger gatherings near Mara Road. Elephants and eland made a graceful appearance near camp, adding to the magic of the morning. This morning’s flight began with a gentle wait for the winds to calm then we rose into the golden sky just after sunrise. Wildlife greeted us in abundance: a cheetah striking a pose on a termite mound, lions lounging, elephants marching, and hippos splashing in and out of the river. Giraffes, buffaloes, gazelles, hartebeest, and bushbucks added to the wonder. Some balloons drifted toward Jamali’s Plain, others followed the Seronera River, all landing softly with grace. Guests were all smiles, toasting with champagne and savoring a delicious bush breakfast beneath the acacias. A morning full of beauty, warmth, and unforgettable moments.

We welcomed guests on time this morning under clear skies, and the Mara River gifted us a truly beautiful flight. Along the way, we spotted hippos, crocodiles, fish eagles, and sacred ibis, with hyenas, wildebeest, warthogs, zebras, impalas, and giraffes gathered around the Oxbow. A lovely herd of elephants was seen near the launch site at Koga and again near Sayari. As we continued, more wildlife appeared along the flight path including lions near the airstrip and Sayari. After smooth landings, guests enjoyed a champagne toast followed by our signature bush breakfast, served to a high standard. Spirits were high as everyone departed on time to rejoin their safari guides.

We lifted off gently with the sunrise, drifting toward the river where sightings of hippo, elephant, giraffe, zebra, and impala gradually unfolded. A special moment came as we hovered directly above a group of giraffes truly magical. After a smooth landing, guests enjoyed the traditional champagne toast and ballooning story. On the way to breakfast, more wildlife greeted us, including elephant, Grant’s gazelle, and impala. Breakfast was peaceful and scenic, with crowned cranes and elephant in the riverbed. Guests appreciated the quiet skies, attentive service, and the thoughtful touches throughout a truly memorable morning in the Serengeti.

A perfect morning in Central Serengeti with all five balloons airborne at sunrise. We drifted over Downeys Dam and along the river, spotting hippos, elephants, giraffes, crocodiles, and a variety of birds. Though game was light at first, sightings picked up over the plains with warthogs, reedbuck, and vultures. Smooth landings in Sonja Plains wrapped up a peaceful flight, and guests were all smiles grateful for the serenity, the views, and the magic of the morning sky.

Guests were greeted by the distant roar of lions as they sipped coffee at the launch site, setting the tone for an unforgettable flight. As the sun rose, the balloon gently lifted and drifted over the river, revealing hippos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and a pride of lions near R24. Low over the baobab forest, guests admired these ancient giants from a breathtaking new angle. After a smooth landing, the traditional champagne toast and ballooning story added a touch of charm. On the way to breakfast, more wildlife appeared lions, buffalo, gazelles, jackals and crowned cranes graced the breakfast site. Guests praised the peaceful flight, seamless operation, and heartfelt hospitality.
