A spectacular morning in the Central Serengeti as three balloons rose gracefully into clear skies at sunrise. We drifted over Valley 16 and into Sopa Valley, enjoying breathtaking views from both high and low before smooth landings near Melia Road. Wildlife was abundant guests spotted elephants, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, buffaloes, gazelles, ostrich, hyenas, warthogs, Topi, Hartebeest, and Impalas. Highlights included two Serval cats, two leopards, a cheetah, and a pride of lions with a fresh kill. Guests were thrilled by the sightings, the serenity of the flight, and the warmth of our team. This morning’s flight began with a gentle lift-off as the sun rose over the Serengeti. Drifting quietly toward the river, guests witnessed a breathtaking moment a leopard leaping from a sausage tree onto an impala, then finishing the hunt just below the balloon on the riverbank. It was a rare and unforgettable sight. The journey continued with serene views of hippos, elephants, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and more. After a smooth landing near the road, guests enjoyed our traditional champagne toast and the story of ballooning’s history. Breakfast was served in the bush with sightings of jackal, giraffe, ground hornbill, and impala nearby. We followed the Seronera River before drifting toward Mukoma Hill, enjoying breathtaking views from both high and low. Wildlife was abundant impala, topi, warthogs, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, buffalo, ostrich, giraffe, elephants, zebra, and even distant lions. This morning’s flight was nothing short of breathtaking. Just before sunrise, we lifted off into golden skies and were immediately greeted by a graceful journey of giraffes seventeen in total mingling with herds of Cape elands. Moments later, two majestic black-maned lions appeared, followed by a sweeping migration of wildebeest, zebras, and countless Thomson’s gazelles dancing across the plains. As we floated over the burnt zone near Sabora, we witnessed a dramatic scene: a pride of lions feasting on a wildebeest, encircled by dozens of curious hyenas. Nature’s raw beauty at its most vivid. Our panoramic route carried us to the northern plains of Sabora, where we touched down with a gentle tip and soft drag an elegant end to an unforgettable journey. This morning in Lamai began with a soft breeze at the launch site, which settled beautifully during inflation, allowing for a smooth and graceful takeoff. On board were two guests accompanied by their safari guide, Nima recently named Safari Guide of the Year. The wildlife was abundant and captivating: large herds of wildebeest still lingered north of the river, joined by hyenas, giraffes, elephants, zebras, and a flurry of scavenger birds. A rare and special highlight two elusive serval cats spotted in the grasslands. After an hour of serene flight, we landed further north than ever before, beyond the airstrip road. Though the crew took a little extra time to locate us, the guests remained relaxed and joyful throughout. A peaceful, wildlife-rich journey that left our guests deeply grateful and full of wonder just another unforgettable morning with Serengeti Balloon Safaris.

This morning brought perfect flying conditions in Central Serengeti, with all four balloons lifting off just in time for a breathtaking sunrise. We floated across Valley 16, glided past Thatch Kopjes, and soared over the Makoma Hills before making smooth stand-up landings in Makoma 4 and 6. Though wildlife was scattered, sightings were plentiful: elephants, buffalos, giraffes, ostriches, hyenas, impalas, warthogs, hartebeest, thousands of gazelles, and even a lion spotted from one balloon. Vultures and eagles circled overhead, adding to the drama of the skies. After landing, guests enjoyed a delicious bush breakfast and a peaceful morning surrounded by the magic of the Serengeti. A truly beautiful start to the day.

Despite a cloudy morning and light rain at launch, conditions soon cleared for a beautiful flight along the Mara River. Guests enjoyed sightings of hippos, crocodiles, sacred ibis, and a variety of wildlife including hyenas, wildebeest, topi, warthog, elephants, giraffes, and zebras. A special highlight was spotting three lions near the main road and two ostriches near Machochwe. Scattered herds stretched from the river to Sayari, with larger groups near Mara Road and beyond camp. The flight ended with smooth landings and a celebratory champagne toast, followed by a high-standard bush breakfast. Guests departed happy and on time to rejoin their safari guides grateful for a rich and memorable morning with Serengeti Balloon Safaris.

It was a perfect launch, and the wildlife didn’t disappoint elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, and even a distant cheetah and a leopard made appearances. We drifted over the riverbanks where hippos splashed, a serval cat slipped through the grass, and bushbucks watched quietly from the reeds. One balloon followed the Seronera River while the others climbed toward Makoma Six, each offering its own breathtaking view. All balloons landed softly and upright, and guests were all smiles as they gathered for our signature bush breakfast warm, delicious, and shared in the heart of the wild.
